Trails of Purpose is a 501c3 established in 2019. We are located in one of the Nation's most densely military populated area, Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Our Mission is to support service members and their families in their fight to overcome the negative effects of trauma, transition, and trials that result from their service in the military. We do this by providing FREE equine assisted therapies and mental health counseling. We operate as a Certified Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH int'l) Center. We have working relationships with the Dept of VA, The Fisher House, The Navy Seal Foundation, LZ Grace Warrior Retreat & Foundation, Veteran's PATH, USO, and USOCCOM.
The birth of Trails of Purpose was a leap of faith (or a cliff dive) for our Founders, Kyle & Kayla Arestivo. Kyle and Kayla were married in June 2018 and quickly knew they were called to serve the military population. Kyle (being a USMMA alumni) had a drive to bring change to the culture surrounding mental health within the military population. Kayla (an LPC Resident in the state of VA) is the daughter surviving a 9/11 terrorist attacks victim. Kayla knew she wanted to devote her life's work to combatting trauma. After one year of marriage they felt the call to create a organization that could act on the passions they felt. In April 2019- Trails of Purpose was born. Kayla and Kyle feel honored to serve our community. They have embraced this mission as a life-long one. They have both been known to "not know when to quit".
